
Overview
Bernie Mac, a beloved stand-up comedian, rose from poverty through years of hard work in Chicago clubs before achieving fame in the early 90s with Def Comedy Jam. He later gained mainstream success with movie roles and his own TV show. Despite his career peak, Mac tragically passed away at age 50 in July 2008 after being hospitalized with pneumonia. Medical Examiner Dr. Michael Hunter is reexamining the death of this unique and cherished performer.
